SCHOOL PSYCHOLOGIST POSITION
ALLIANCE PUBLIC SCHOOLS, ALLIANCE, NE
The Alliance Public Schools is accepting applications for a
full-time School Psychologist position, for the 2006-2007 school year, or
possible immediate start. The
position includes a 215 day contract as part of a 2 psychologist team with a 1
: 780 psychologist/student ratio based on current enrollment. The successful applicant will be able
to demonstrate essential skills in leadership, diagnostic expertise, knowledge
in behavioral and learning strategies/applications, and excellent
inter-personnel/communication skills.
Job responsibilities will include a broad spectrum with regular and
special education populations including program planning and development. Interns with comprehensive training are
encouraged to apply.
Individuals must meet the Nebraska State Certification or
provisional requirements including School Psychologist and Special Education
competencies, PPST, Human Relations training and proper endorsements. Alliance provides a competitive salary

Job Description
School Psychologist
Supervisor: Special
Education Director
Qualifications: Nebraska Certification in School Psychology or
equivalent as per Rule 24.
Salary: Teacher
Salary Schedule prorated up to two additional months
Job Statement: The school psychologist ensures that students who
need special education are properly qualified. This person provides ancillary service as an educational
interventionist, crisis response team member, staff trainer, counselor, and
advisor to administration. The
special education department maintains two full time psychologists who employ
an MDT clerk to assist with completing paperwork.
Job Duties:
1. Report directly to the Special Education Director.
2. Submit to the Special Education Director a schedule
and/or report of activities as requested.
3. Conduct psychometric testing or document student
response to intervention and complete word processed reports as assigned by the
Special Education Director.
4. Contact parents about test results and meet if
necessary.
5. Submit items to be considered for the special
education budget annually.
6. Attend meetings and inservice as directed.
7. Consult with Alliance Public Schools personnel on
matters regarding testing, counseling, procedure, behavior, and instruction.
8. Counsel students, staff, and/or parents when directed
by the Special Education Director.
9. Advise the Special Education Director about related
issues.
10. Maintain a productive rapport with the clients and
personnel of Alliance Public Schools.
11. Evaluate and modify as necessary district procedures
for fulfilling the verification guidelines as per Rule 51.
12. Evaluate and modify as directed by the Special
Education Director district procedures for ensuring Rule 51 compliance.
13. Direct the multidisciplinary team process.
14. Schedule students for testing and re-evaluation.
15. Conduct inservice when directed by the Special
Education Director.
16. Attend and direct IEP meetings when directed by the
Special Education Director.
17. Direct preschool arena assessment.
18. Other duties as assigned by the Special Education
Director.
