5.035 10th Period
At the beginning of the year there will be 10th period for all students who have been retained in a grade or repeating a class. This class will operate from 3:05 to 3:45. Students may be referred to 10th period at any time through the year by school staff.

The purpose is to assist the students and to monitor their progress so that their grades are passing. A 10th period assignment slip will be sent to parents and the student will be notified that they are assigned to 10th period, until the grade is passing or the Inc. is removed by the staff member who assigned them. Daily records will be kept and the student is required to be there. Students will report to their assigned 10th period teacher, if a student completes assignments and time permits, students will be given a check out slip and report to another assigned 10th period teacher. If not, the student will receive a check out sheet from their 10th period teacher and will take it to Mrs. Dobrovolny room 208 to check out the day. They can be taken off the list if they turn in a notice from the teacher(s) that their status is at a passing level. Students in athletic practices, having paper routes, baby-sitting at home, or any other reason other than documented, such as a doctor or court appointment, will be required to attend 10th period. In order for 10th hour to work effectively, it will be a strictly enforced operation.

Students who do not report to 10th period as assigned will face truancy consequences. We will have a law enforcement education officer who will help us to make this work.
