Alliance Middle School    ~    Student-Parent Handbook

1.010 Philosophy
The Alliance City Schools accepts the responsibility of providing education for all citizens of the community as accorded by the Laws of the State of Nebraska.

Furthermore, the school recognizes that the educational needs of the students are based on societal needs, individual needs and the need for self-development. The school will maintain programs and policies of flexibility to meet these needs which are always in a process of change.

The schools acknowledge that students are individuals, socially and culturally and will vary in interests, talents and abilities. Programs, methods, and materials will endeavor to reflect upon this principle. At the same time, the schools shall strive to encourage a desire for success, a love of knowledge, and a search for a successful place in life.

The schools will endeavor to seek new ways to promote the understanding between student and student, student and school, as well as school and community.

Above all, the major criteria for evaluation shall be that the schools exist for the benefit of students, and decisions made will be based on this practice.
